Charlotte Freeston joins as Head of Brewing and Innovation

August 4, 2025

We’re excited to announce that Charlotte Freeston has joined us as our new Head of Brewing and Innovation. With over 10 years of experience, Charlotte is bringing fresh energy and bold ideas to Feral Brewing as we step into an exciting new chapter.

Before coming to Feral, Charlotte made a name for herself at Beavertown in London, where she led the Tempus Barrel Program. Now, she’s here with us to take Feral’s experimental brewing to the next level. “Even before I moved to WA, I knew Feral had a reputation for bold, creative beers and limited-edition releases. I never imagined I’d actually end up working here, but now that I am, it feels like the perfect fit”.

For Charlotte, joining Feral is a chance to embrace something unapologetic and bold. “The name ‘Feral’ really resonates with me. It speaks to that wild, untamed part of who I am. There’s a rebellious energy behind it, and I’m excited to bring that to the brewery,” she explains.

“We want to get back to pushing boundaries,” Charlotte says. “When Feral first started, it was all about taking risks and launching beers without knowing if they’d be a hit. That’s how we got iconic brews like Hop Hog and Tusk. Now, we’re ready to bring that same energy back – creating beers that surprise and excite you, and making the kinds of beers we love to drink.”

To kick things off, we’ve just released two keg-only, limited-edition beers: [REDACTED] Oat Cream IPA and It Came From the Dessert Imperial Stout. They’re available from July 18th, and you can find stockists listed on our social media channels.

As for our much-loved core beers like Hop Hog, Biggie, and War Hog, we’re not planning any major changes. “These beers are loved by so many, and we’re not about to mess with that,” Charlotte says. The loyal fans have kept us going through all the changes, and we respect that. But, of course, we’re always asking ourselves: “Can we make these beers even better?” It’s all about improving quality while keeping the essence of what you love.

With all the exciting changes ahead, we’re stoked to have Charlotte leading the way. There’s a lot of innovation and fresh ideas on the horizon, so stay tuned for more limited releases, and a whole lot of wild brewing coming your way.
